In Berlin during the week of September 22, each European National Winner for the Dell Global Small Business Excellence Award was in attendance at the Hotel Kempinski Adlon Berlin to receive their recognition as a Global Finalist for 2008. European winners from France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom had the chance to participate in a roundtable discussion with Dell Inc. CEO Michael Dell and other select Dell Executives. The discussion was an invaluable time for best practice sharing and discussions regarding the current small business landscape around the world. During the discussion Mr. Dell provided unique insight into what it means to be a small business owner and how to survive in an increasingly global marketplace. In addition to the roundtable discussion, each of the finalists participated in a panel discussion with ICSB representatives to identify strengths and weaknesses of the competition as well as to share their personal success stories.
The Hotel Adlon Kempinski was the host for the event and is located in Berlin approximately 20-45 minutes from the three major Berlin airports. The Hotel boasts 304 luxurious rooms and 78 suites. Generosity and attention to details are the hallmarks of the hotel's guestrooms and suites. Exquisite designs, materials and colors imbue every room and suite with its unique and personal charm.
